After completing an impressive two-game winning streak against Delaware Valley University and Mount Saint Mary College the team dropped their next two matches, including one against a Landmark Conference opponent.
The women’s soccer team traveled to Elizabethtown, Pa. to take on their conference rivals at Elizabethtown College. The team fought hard but dropped their first conference match, which brought their record to four wins, three losses, and one tie. Elizabethtown jumped out early and never looked back. They held the Rangers scoreless for all of regulation. The Blue Jays came into the game with only recording one win on the season, while the Rangers look to bounce back as they take on their next Conference opponent tomorrow against Moravian College at 1 p.m., here at Drew.
The team then return home to take on ranked opponent, Stevens Institute of Technology. The Rangers got shut out once again and saw their record return to .500 for the season. The team did not register one goal during regulation but gave up six to their opponent. Stevens Institute had their way with the Rangers as they scored five goals in the second period to close out the game. This would be the Rangers worse lose on the year so far with a scoreless game of 6-0.
The team hopes to bounce back this weekend as they take on Moravian tomorrow and then William Paterson University on Wednesday, Oct. 5. Both games will be at Drew right before they hit the road to take on two conference opponents, Juniata College on Saturday, Oct. 8 and the University of Scranton on Wednesday Oct. 12.
